Inspiring Educational Quotes

Please, please, please, I would LOVE to read your reflections on the quotes.

"Believe you can and you are half way there!" (Theodore Roosvelet)
ME: Am I going to be a master teacher? I actually believe!!!

"Our highest endeavor must be to develop free human beings who are able of themselves to impart purpose and direction to their lives. The need for imagination, a sense of truth, and a feeling of responsibility—these three forces are the very nerve of education."  (Rudolf Steiner)
ME: A lovely quote! Extremely impressive...

"A creative man is motivated by the desire to achieve, not to beat others." (Ayn Rand)
ME: Got to implant, or even engrave this in our students' souls! An amazing quote, a key to real student's and human's development!

"A good teacher has changed from 'one who explains things so well that students understand' to 'one who gets students to explain things so well that they can be understood' " (Steven C. Reinhart)
ME: achieving real learning, an enduring one!

“The noblest work in education is to make a reasoning man, and we expect to train a young child by making him reason! This is beginning at the end; this is making an instrument of a result. If children understood how to reason they would not need to be educated.”  (Rousseau, Emile)
ME:  "After all, higher orger thinking as a habit" is our goal!

“I am not a teacher, but an awakener.” (Robert Frost)
ME: I love Robert Frost, and this quote of his is so representative, so imrpressive!

"You can never be overdressed or overeducated.”  (Oscar Wilde)
ME: "Life-long, again!"

“[Kids] don't remember what you try to teach them. They remember what you are.” (Jim Henson)
ME: A Role Model! This is eternal; this is efficient! So practice it right!

“The educated differ from the uneducated as much as the living differ from the dead.” (Aristotle)
ME: So true! But, in the sense that people educate themselves; they learn from the life experiences and from the formal education. Both contribute, but it's never, never the school education that determines whether one is alive or no, I believe!!

“Self-education is, I firmly believe, the only kind of education there is.” (Isaac Asimov)
ME: This is the point; I've just caught this now!

"What a school thinks about its library is a measure of what it feels about education.” (Harold Howe)
ME: Well, it seems the majority of schools around have a negative attitude towards education! :)

ME: Life long, again!!!

“Education is the power to think clearly, the power to act well in the world's work, and the power to appreciate life.” (Brigham Young)
ME: Direct to the point!

ME: Active Learning is enduring, that is!

“If you think education is expensive, try ignorance.” (Derek Bok)
ME: So true! hehehehehe

  1. Hello Hanaa, fascinating quotes! One of my favorites of all times written by Theodore Roosvelet "Believe you can and you are half way there!". I have always admired this quote by all means, it is what reminds me that no matter how hard things get throughout time, I must believe that I am almost there and it just gives me the exact push to reach where I want to get.
Thank you for sharing these with us!.
